EPA to withdraw “once in, always in” MACT policy

The Environmental Protection Agency has agreed to withdraw its “once in, always in” policy for Maximum Achievable Control Technology standards under the Clean Air Act. “It will reduce regulatory burden for industries and the states, while continuing to ensure stringent and effective controls on hazardous air pollutants,” said the EPA’s Bill Wehrum.
