Tom E. Knauer

Tom Knauer has his own firm, Law Office of Thomas E. Knauer, PLLC, with offices in downtown Richmond, Virginia.  He has 24 years of experience advising and representing clients on federal and state environmental laws and regulations, including rulemakings, permitting proceedings and enforcement actions involving air emissions, wastewater discharges, and the management of solid and hazardous wastes.  He has advised small, medium and large manufacturing clients, including chemical, fiber, oil refining, explosives, fish processing, printing, pharmaceutical, and electric power generation companies on a wide variety of environmental issues critical to developing, permitting, and operating their facilities.  He is recognized in the environmental law category in The Best Lawyers in America and as a leading environmental lawyer for business by Chambers USA.  He has for years served as counsel to the Air Regulation Subcommittee of the Virginia Manufacturers Association.
