Virginia Department of Business Assistance - DBA offers a wealth of resources to new and expanding businesses in the Business Resource Center and Business Information Center, including a step-by-step guide to starting your business and a comprehensive calendar of statewide business events.
Virginia Economic Development Partnership is the state’s economic development office that cultivates new business investment, fosters international trade growth and encourages the expansion of existing Virginia businesses (along with the Virginia Department of Business Assistance and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services).  One may also find a guide to incentives and state/local taxes on business on this site.
Virginia's Finest Trademark Program was developed to identify, differentiate and promote top quality Virginia-produced and processed agricultural products. Since it began, the program has grown to more than 500 participating agricultural, food and beverage companies.

Affiliated Organizations
National Association of Manufacturers - The NAM’s mission is to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturers by shaping a legislative and regulatory environment conducive to U.S. economic growth and to increase understanding among policymakers, the media and the general public about the vital role of manufacturing to America’s economic future and living standards.
The NAM is the nation’s largest industrial trade association, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the NAM has 10 additional offices across the country.
National Council for Advanced Manufacturing - The National Council for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM) is an industry-led, policy research organization, working collaboratively since 1989 with key leaders from industry, education, and government, to shape public policies and programs to make U.S. manufacturing globally competitive.

Energy
Minerals Management Service is national in scope and headquartered in Washington, D.C. It includes two major programs, Offshore Minerals Management and Minerals Revenue Management. The Offshore program, which manages the mineral resources on the OCS, comprises three regions: Alaska , Gulf of Mexico , and the Pacific.
Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy provides state government, the business community, and citizens with a focal point for the development of innovative policies, and for the implementation of comprehensive programs for energy and mineral resources consistent with modern safety and conservation practices.

Environmental, Health & Safety
The Annapolis Center for Science-Based Public Policy is a national, nonprofit, educational organization that supports and promotes responsible energy, environmental, health and safety decision-making.
Virginia Environmental Services Network (VESN) is a statewide referral network created to provide Virginia industries with a current, efficient, and precise means of access to the various public and private sector environmental product and service providers conducting business within the Commonwealth.  The site contains a comprehensive environmental resource listing.
Virginia Department of Environmental Quality has a complete online resource pertaining to the environmental regulation of air, water and waste in Virginia.
Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation works to conserve, protect, and enhance lands and improve the quality of the Chesapeake Bay and our rivers and streams.
Virginia Department of Labor and Industry has an online InfoCenter with various publications, forms, programs and resources related to workplace safety.

Virginia's Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) is an assessment-based credential that gives employers and career seekers a uniform measure of key workplace skills.
Virginia's Skills Bank provides employers, career seekers, and workforce professionals with information and access to a searchable database yielding data on the varied skill levels of Virginia's workforce.
Virginia Employment Commission – The VEC provides employer services that promote maximum employment to enhance the economic stability of Virginia (e.g., job search services, etc.).

VCCS IE-AT Manufacturing Portal - Created to provide Virginia Community College System faculty and staff with a tool to collaborate on advanced manufacturing workforce issues.

Taxation
Virginia Joint Subcommittee Studying Manufacturing/Manufacturing Development Commission contains one of the most comprehensive archives of machinery and tools related reports in Virginia.
Virginia Department of Taxation's website is designed to provide you with easy access to a variety of online services and information about taxes in Virginia.

Federation of Tax Administrators - FTA serves as a source of information and expertise for state administrators and others on the workings of state tax agencies and systems as well as issues generally affecting tax policy and administration. FTA staff regularly monitors the activities of state tax agencies and the federal government in order to serve as a clearinghouse on topics important to administrators. FTA also conducts research projects in such areas as state tax policies and structures, compliance and enforcement programs, and federal and state court decisions. In addition, significant effort is devoted to inquiries from tax administrators on special problems and issues.
